Transitt
was formed in January of 2002 in Memphis, TN. They
have played frequently in Memphis area bars and clubs as
well as the surrounding area since then and have been called
"Memphis's hottest new party band" by local radio
stations.

Members:

Lee
Gilliland (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, violin)
started studying piano when he was two. He studied
classical violin for eleven years under the University of
Memphis Suzuki program. In college, Lee studied opera
at the University of Tennessee and later returned to
University of Memphis to study advertising. During his
time at University of Memphis, Lee was in the commercial
music department's ensemble, Sound Fuzion. Lee has
also been in several local theater productions.

Andrew
Austin (saxophone, vocals) graduated
with bachelors degree in Exercise Science from the
University of Memphis. He has played in many different
ensembles in and around Memphis. He also studied saxophone
at the University. His primary instructors have been
Allen Rippe and Don Sinta.

Tommy
Sexton (drums)
has been playing piano and organ since he was six years old and
percussion since he was twelve. He has been
a regular musician among local churches and
denominations throughout the midsouth. He is
currently on staff in the music department at
Second Baptist here in Memphis. Tommy has
also performed alongside internationally acclaimed
church music composers Joseph Martin and Pepper
Choplin. In addition to his music career,
Tommy also officiates basketball games for the
NCAA. His biggest claim-to-fame was his
appearance on the GSN game show, "Russian
Roulette" (although he did not emerge as
the champion).

Alan
"Otto" Compton (percussion, vocals)
has been a percussionist for twenty-two
years. He attended University of Memphis with a focus
in Percussion Performance. Alan
was a member of the original London, US Tour and Broadway
casts of the Tony and Emmy award winning show, Blast!. With
Blast! he performed on the UK’s Blue Peter and T.F.I.
Friday television shows as well as the Kennedy Center
Honors, the NBA All-Star Game and the Today Show here in the
US. He appears on all
existing Blast! and Brass Theater CD's as well as the Blast!
DVD. He spent ten years of his percussion
career in the world champion drum and bugle corps, Star of
Indiana.
